Inspiration Center Denmark is a retreat and course center that also offers Bed & Breakfast. Here are 25 rooms of different sizes, access to a terrace and park-like garden, free WiFi and shared shower and toilet – and breakfast. The décor is tasteful and cozy.
History of the place
Inspiration Center Denmark was originally a retirement home. The old people's home was built according to a design by Brewer Jørgensen, as a beautiful one-storey building with a long central wing and two side wings. The left side wing was formerly a hospital, established in 1705 by Sister Lerche. The building burned down in 1905, but was rebuilt in 1906 by Eggert Christoffer Count Knuth. Throughout the building there was room for 26 age rate-savers with common dining and garden room, bath and other comforts, as well as a large beautiful garden.
In 1982, Maribo Folk High School began its work, which ended in October 2001.
In 2003, InspirationsCenter Maribo opened its doors as a retreat place, with its own concept and where foreign course teams could rent the facilities and get service in the form of good food and good conditions for courses and seminars with round-the-clock stays.
In 2019, the name changed with new owners to Inspiration Center Denmark where the same concept continues as well as Bed & Breakfast and rental of the premises for parties with accommodation.
