Gedser Carriage House
Visit the cosy railway museum Gedser Remise, see the famous yellow mansion from the Danish Olsenbanden films and enjoy train track cycling or a trip on a vintage train. Gedser Remise is for all railway enthusiasts, young and old.
Gedser Remise (carrigage house) is an active railway museum, a different kind of working museum with hands-on activities. No dusty artifacts here, the museum is raw and authentic with lots of old trains and unusual buildings.
Gedser Remise, a 12-track ring remise used for parking trains, is located in Denmark's southernmost town. The building had an important function as a depot for steam locomotives when Gedser was an active railway hub.
Today, Gedser Remise still has the original interior design and the command post The Yellow Mansion from Copenhagen, which was the setting for the Danish film "Olsen Banden on the track", is a popular attraction.
Gedser Remise is an active and vibrant museum, and in connection with the carrigage house is a 23 km long vintage railway that ends in Nykøbing Falster. Here you can take a ride on a vintage train or hop on a railbike for part of the journey.
Information about opening hours, timetables and activities can be found on the depot's website
